The table illustrate the consumer's spending of different items in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002.

Overall, the spending on food, drinks and tobacco was the highest in five countries, which was significantly higher than the other types of items. The lowest spending could be seen in leisure and education in five countries in 2002.

In terms of food, drinks and tobacoo, Turkey hit the most at 32.14%, and Ireland was also high at 28.91% compared to Sweden which spent the least at 15.77%. By contrast, the consumer spending on leisure and education was the lowest which was all under 5% in all countries. Turkey spent most on these items at 4.35% which was considerably higher than other countries, whereas Spain was the lowest at 1.98%.

The percentage of clothing and footwear was a little higher than the spending of leisure and education, which the consumer from Italy spent most at 9.00% and Ireland and Spain were approximately at the same percentage which were lower than other countries.
