Some people believe that in order to improve educational quality, we should encourage students to make comments or even criticism on their teachers, but others think it will lead to the loss of respect and discipline in the class room.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.(教育)

There has been much debate about whether people should encourage students to make comments or even criticism in classes in order to improve educational quality. From where I stand, I consider that it depends on the type of courses.(3分钟30秒)

Some people believe that the behavior of students making comments or criticism on teachers should be encouraged. They have their good points to support their view. Firsly, making comments and criticism can help students understand knowledge better. One fact is that many professional courses are complex, with the theories which are hard to understand. However, if making comments or criticism is permitted, students can explain their problems freely and solve it by their own thinking with the help of the teachers, which is really helpful for students to study the courses more deeply.(15分钟) In addition, teachers can get the feeback of the classes to improve educational quality if students can leave comments or even criticism. For example, if there are numerous comments, teachers can know that students are hard to understand some points of the knowledge, so teachers can improve the teaching method in the next semester.(22分钟)

However, some people propose that respect and discipline will be lost if students are allowed to make comments and criticism. The main reason is that the teaching effect in the classes will decrease if many students want to explain their own opinions. For example, if making comments and criticism is encouraged, students may firstly explain their questions and just wait for the answer by teachers without the process of thinking by themselves, which will foster a bad habit of learning for them. Besides, the classes may be lose of control. If a lot of comments or criticism are appeared in class, most of the time of the class are used to answer the questions instead of teach knowledge. Thus, the efficiency of class will be reduced.(36分钟)

In my opinion, I think that making comments or criticism should be encourage or not depends on the type of courses. For example, in the seminars or lectures, the main function of the classes is teaching, so leaving comments or criticism should be limited appropriately. In contrast, in the practice course, questions should be encourage to make in order to help students understand the theory better.(41分钟)
